US ARMY SCR-536 (BC-611-F) Radio Set

US Army SCR-536 (BC-611-F) Radio Set

Used by the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II and the Korean War. Commonly nicknamed the Handie-Talkie by troops, it was among the first true handheld radios issued for military use.

Both handsets were refurbished postwar for service in Korea and were later surplussed, believed to have been issued to the U.S. Forest Service or a logging company in West Virginia.

These units are excellent candidates for full restoration and are well suited for living history displays or tactical collections.
